Tanya Okpala Biography
Tanya Okpala, a former lawn tennis champion, was born on January 21, 1982, in Anambra State, Nigeria. She represented Nigeria in tennis during the 1990s and won the lawn championship. However, she faced challenges in her personal life that led to her current situation.
Early Life and Education
Tanya Okpala completed her primary and secondary education in Nigeria before receiving a scholarship to study at Howard University in the United States in 1999.
Career
She started her career as a professional tennis player and emerged as a champion in lawn tennis. Unfortunately, after the death of her mother, her life took an unfortunate turn, and she started working in a hotel. Eventually, she lost her job and was seen begging for food to survive in the streets of Awka, Anambra State.
Personal Life
Tanya Okpala is single and has a child with her ex-Liberian boyfriend.
Rehabilitation
After a video of Tanya Okpala begging on the streets gained public attention, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State ordered her rehabilitation.
